Goodluck Homestead in Stanford

Goodluck Homestead has self-catering cottages and a farmhouse on a working farm in Stanford. Each unit has a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace, and a terrace or patio with garden or mountain views. The recently renovated rooms use natural materials and include beds and quality linen. The Vineyard Cottage sits above the vineyard; the Cottage with Garden View has an outdoor shower and bath.

There is no onsite restaurant. The kitchen is set up for self-catering, with cooking utensils, a large fridge/freezer, and basic supplies like tea, coffee, and rusks. On arrival, guests receive a basket of farm-grown vegetables, eggs, fresh milk, and homemade honey. A farm deli sells the farm's organic produce, wine, meat, and port. Outdoor braai facilities, a dining table, and outdoor furniture are available.

The property has a hot tub and a heated pool. A dam on the farm is used for swimming, fishing, paddling, and row boating. There are farm walks, a vegetable garden, and animals such as goats, cows, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and a pig. Children can use the swings and lawns. The open area is suitable for stargazing at night.

Goodluck Homestead is 200 km from Cape Town International Airport. It is about a 10-minute drive from Stanford town centre and a 25-minute drive from Hermanus. Panthera, a big cat sanctuary, is 1 km away. The last stretch of road is a maintained dirt road. Free private parking is available on site.

The property offers free WiFi, free private parking, accessible parking, and non-smoking rooms. The farm has a garden, terrace, and BBQ facilities. Cottages are off-grid and have no TV. Hosts Tabby and Alex respond quickly and have picked up guests whose car broke down on the nearby road. A welcome basket with fresh produce and honey is included. Invoices can be provided on request.
